Global’s Make Some Noise is an Appeal operated by Global's Charities Limited, a registered charity in England, Wales and Scotland. Our vision is that nobody in the UK should be facing life’s toughest challenges alone, and we believe that small charities are best placed to address this in their local communities.

Here at Global’s Make Some Noise, we lean on the power of media, to let our audiences know they are not alone. We highlight issues that affect lives across the UK, by sharing stories from the local charities we support. We inspire and empower Global's audiences to unite in support of this work through their donations.

The funds we generate comes mainly from public donations inspired by the stories we share about the charities we support across Global's radio stations, outdoor advertising and social media platforms.

As a Charity Partner, you will be asked to provide photos, case studies and expected outcomes of the individuals supported by the project funded by Global’s Make Some Noise. If you are unable to support our fundraising in this capacity, it may reduce your chances of success.

ELIGIBILITY

What We Fund

Global’s Make Some Noise support projects, roles or programmes that provide in-depth direct delivery or continuous support work to individuals. To ensure consistency and transparency in how we allocate our funding, proposed projects must clearly align with at least one of our key outcome areas:

- Providing safety and shelter

- Supporting physical and/or mental health

- Developing life skills

- Reducing isolation or improving inclusion

Our grants programme also offers capacity building opportunities, designed to nurture the growth and development of small charities, and enhance their capacity to provide vital support within their communities.

What We Don’t Fund

Unfortunately, there are certain things that we cannot fund, which include:

- Activities to promote or improve the wellbeing of animals or our natural world

- Contributions to general appeals or circulars

- Funding for individuals or networked organisations

- Political, religious driven projects, or any other activity or project that is not for the wider public benefit

- Public bodies or associated providers carrying out statutory obligations, such as schools, the NHS or Local Authorities

- Activities that have already taken place

- Funding for grant-making activities, or activities where funds will be primarily provided to third-party organisations to deliver work.

Alumni Charities

Alumni charities selected for a grant before and including 2018 are able to reapply for funding this year (your previous project grant funding must have ended in 2020).

Charities who took part in the Small Charity Week match funding campaign in June 2025 are eligible to apply for a project grant (as long as they meet all the above criteria).

Storytelling

The Global's Make Some Noise Appeal

It is important to note that we would require full written permissions for any content used containing the people you support or staff members.

We choose the most powerful stories that will resonate with our listeners, and which will help drive donations. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that all successful applicants will be profiled on Global’s platforms (e.g.: radio stations and social media).

If you think you are unable to fulfil this request, please contact grants@makesomenoise.com with the subject line ‘2025 EOI storytelling enquiry’.

Monitoring and Reporting Requirements

Our programme monitoring and evaluation process focuses on 4 areas:

- Project deliverables

- Organisational growth/development

- Individual impact

- Storytelling/case studies

The ‘individual’ impact of your project will be measured through by the application of the four wellbeing questions by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), focussing on the impact that your project is having on the beneficiary’s emotional wellbeing.

We ask our charity partners - where appropriate -  to ask these four questions to every person people supported through the GMSN-funded project, at the beginning and end of their journey throughout your funding with us so you track their progress.
